         2nd Grade Class

Dear Parents,

  On behalf of Rainbow Christian Academy and myself, I would like to extend the warmest welcome to all of my 2nd grade class.  My name is Soraya Garcia, and I will be teaching your child’s second grade class.  God has blessed me with the opportunity to be teaching at Rainbow for the fifth year.  My husband and I have been living in Florida for the past twenty one years.  My children, who are nine and thirteen, also attend Rainbow and truly love it.  We are members of Last Harvest Church Assemblies of God, in Gould’s. My husband and I love the Lord and strive for excellence in whatever He may have us do for Him.

  I have taught k-4, first grade, second grade for two years and third grade as well. Now, it will be a blessing to teach second grade once again.  We have planned a wonderful year for our children.  This year will be filled with new and exciting things, such as the implementation of technology in the classroom.  This is a wonderful addition to compliment our curriculum.

  Our morning begins with Bible time.  During this time the children will voyage into the Bible   and its exciting stories.  We utilize A Beka for Phonics, Handwriting, Spelling, Science, History, and Health. For Language, we use the Shurley method.  Implementing this curriculum combination, allows your child to receive the optimum quality in education, and at the same time making learning fun! 

  It will be a privilege to teach your child, because they are God’s greatest gift.  God has granted me the opportunity to be a teacher, and to help your child to grow intellectually as well as spiritually.  I am so blessed to have each of these children in my classroom, and have been praying for God’s blessings upon each family. Please feel free to communicate any concerns or questions.  You may reach me via your child’s agenda, or e-mail me.  After 3:15pm, I am also available to speak with you.  I know that God will bless us richly this year, as the children embark on a Wonderful learning adventure.
