BIBLE: Fourth grade Bible is the most important time of the day.  It is the first subject taught each day presenting the Bible through the telling of the stories of the Old and New Testaments as Bible hymns, choruses, praise and worship prepare the heart, soul, and mind of each student.. Creation, Adam, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, the life of Christ, and the ministry of the Apostle Paul all present a life of faith in Christ.  Memorization of the Books of the Bible and several Scripture passages, as well as Sword Drills, reinforce the daily lessons.  Bible tests are given over the instruction of this Bible material.

LANGUAGE/WRITING: Fourth grade language uses the Shurley method.  It is a whole language approach that is a fun rhythmic way of learning parts of speech and sentence structure.  Jingles that define linguistic terminology make learning language basics fun.  There are daily drills and weekly tests.  Language goes hand in hand with writing.  The students use skills learned in language to write expositive and narrative, as well as poetic, pieces.  Grading for writing is based on organization, sentence fluency, word choice, voice, ideas, conventions, and presentation.
