Dear Parents, Let us pray: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for watching over us this summer. I also thank you for all of the children at Children’s Rainbow Day School and especially for the children in my class. Let us have an excellent year together. Amen I hope you and your family made some glorious memories this year as you enjoyed spending time relaxing with family and friends. I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Mrs. Jones and I am so excited and honored to start this year with your most precious gift, your child. I have been happily married to my husband James for fifteen years. We have three precious children that God has given to us. In our spare time, my family enjoys going to church and going on family outings. I have been working with children for fifteen years. I started working with children at my church as a Sunday school teacher and then as an aftercare teacher. Currently God has placed me here at Children’s Rainbow Day School as a preschool teacher, where I have worked for the last few years. What your children will be learning this year: We start everyday with Bible. Bible is the most important time of our day, because it is important to teach children that God loves them and that He is their friend. At Rainbow we teach children stories that show God’s love, grace and mercy, as well as, songs that will glorify the Lord and memory verses. After Bible your children will enjoy phonics. The phonics lessons will consist of recognizing the names and sounds of all of the letters of the alphabet. Language development coincides with phonics by introducing different animals and objects that begin with the same letter that is being introduced that day in the phonics lesson. In numbers your children will learn to count to 50 and to recognize and conceptualize the numbers 1 through 15! Our weekly schedules also include many activities designed to increase your child’s motor skills, these are known as skills activities. They are: Science on Mondays, Drama and Show & Tell on Tuesdays, Cooking Class and Poetry on Wednesdays, Music on Thursdays, Amber Lamb stories on Fridays, Crafts on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays and Computers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Before I end this letter, I would like to emphasize the importance of punctuality. It is very important for your child to be here no later than 8:00. This ensures that your child can enter the classroom and interact with the other children in order to relax and start the day off right by 8:15. I look forward to building loving memories as we work together as parent and teacher to make this school year a successful one. If you need to speak with me, please leave a message for me in the office at (305- 258-0194). I will call you back as soon as I am able to. May God bless you and your family! Mrs. Jones
