Greetings! My name is Brenda Orinstein and I would like to welcome everyone to a new school year at Children’s Rainbow Day School. This will be my ninth year teaching at Rainbow. During my nine years I have enjoyed teaching both the two and three year old classes and I enjoy both. I am married to a wonderful man and we have two children, Joseph and Taylor. My son Joseph will be going into the tenth grade and my daughter Taylor will be entering seventh grade here at Rainbow. We attend the Redland Church of the Nazarene and if you do not currently have a Church home, I would like to invite you to join us here! I am very excited to have your child in my class! This year will be full of fun, excitement and learning. In the next couple of paragraphs I will briefly explain what your child will be learning this year. Each month you will receive a calendar of events. Please keep it in a place where you can easily view it so you will not miss any of our fun days. We start everyday with Bible. Bible is the most important time of our day, because it is important to teach children that God loves them and that He is their friend. At Rainbow we teach children stories that show God’s love, grace and mercy, as well as, songs that will glorify the Lord and memory verses. During Phonics, the children will learn to recognize the shapes and say the sound of each letter. This prepares them for reading. In language development the children will learn about animals and objects that begin with the letter that was introduced earlier in the day during phonics. In language enrichment the children will learn different sets of opposites, for example: "on and off" and "up and down." The children will also begin learning to count from 1 to 10. Three times a week your child will have craft time, we will make different projects that will be sent home for you to enjoy. During the week we will also have special snack, cooking class, science, music, computers, show & tell and drama. I encourage you to ask your child what they did at school each and every day. One more note, it is important for your child to arrive at school no later than 8:00 a.m. as class begins promptly at 8:15. This will give your child enough time to gently settle in before class. I am really looking forward to a great year with each of my children and their parents. If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me through the school (305) 258-0194. I will be available to return phone calls during naptime. In Christ’s Love,
