Imagine a world where students are so excited about reading that they want to spend every                        available minute with books. This dream has become a reality for many right here at Rainbow thanks to the help of Accelerated Reader. It’s as Easy as 1-2-3!!
1. Students read a book.
Students choose a book of  interest to them that is on their reading level. A list of books arranged by reading level is available on our website.
2. Student takes a quiz
We now have 950 quizzes and we will continue to add more. If you would like us to order a quiz for a               particular book please turn your request into the office.

3 .     Students and teachers get immediate feedback.
Both the student and teacher get immediate, individualized, constructive feedback with the number of points they received for that particular quiz.
Following are the number of points each child needs to earn in a 9 week period.  Students receiving this minimum amount of points will receive an “A” for approximately 25% of their 9 week reading grade.

Students obtaining more points than required will have the opportunity to earn homework passes, extra prize store points, a barbeque and pool party or a water park field trip!!!!  Last year approximately 65 students were able to enjoy a day at Jacob’s Aquatic in Key Largo at the end of the year.
